Seventy editions and counting.
Peter Rich promoted the first race in 1957. Since then, a Tour de France pioneer, an Olympic speed skating champion and future World Tour pros have all won here.

Three Bears. Nowhere to hide.
Baby Bear, Mama Bear, Papa Bear: three climbs on Bear Creek Road, lap after lap. Papa Bear's back side runs 2.1 miles, and it's usually where the race is decided.

From first-time Cat 5 racers to elite, collegiate, women's and junior fields, every level races the same historic roads. In 2026 the women's and men's Pro/1/2 fields split the cash purse 50/50.

Berkeley Bicycle Club members and volunteers put on the race. In 2026, the Omnium raised $28,610 for six East Bay NICA high school teams.
