One of Northern California's longest-running road races, decided on the climb, not the sprint. It's the first day of the Berkeley Omnium, and the reason riders come back every year.

The Course
Through the 3 Bears.
The race climbs through the 3 Bears, the East Bay's classic proving ground for road racers. It's built on sustained climbing, technical descending, and a finale that rewards riders who can still attack after their legs are gone.
History
One of America's oldest road races.
The Berkeley Hills Road Race has run since 1957, the oldest continuously running bicycle road race in the United States. It was initiated by Peter Rich, who also founded Velo Club Berkeley.
Today it's organized by the Berkeley Bicycle Club, formed in January 1979 when Velo Club Berkeley merged with the Berkeley Wheelmen, and has organized the race since. 2026 marked the 70th edition, and the field has included national-caliber riders over the years.

Every Pro/1/2 winner.
Men's winners since 1957 and women's since 1999, on the same hills. Riders marked Pro went on to race professionally.
