Who makes a race

Not just logos.

A bike race needs racers, volunteers, clubs, officials, sponsors, local businesses, cycling companies and community organizations, all showing up for the same weekend. The partners on this page each contribute something different: a podium, a purse, a jersey, a kids clinic, fuel, prizes, volunteers. Together they help keep a race that started in 1957 on the calendar.

Expert Tree Service: a one-of-a-kind podium.

Title sponsor two years running, and the builder of the finish-line moment racers remember.

Expert Tree Service was the Berkeley Omnium title sponsor in 2025 and 2026. In 2026 it also co-funded the $10,000 Pro/1/2 cash purse with KaiVelo.

It also created the Berkeley Hills Road Race podium, used only at the road race. It gives the race a finish-line moment that looks like nowhere else, and it has become part of what the Berkeley Hills Road Race is.

Voler: the winner's jersey.

For many years, Berkeley Omnium winners have pulled on a Voler jersey. And in 2024, Voler's own factory team won the Berkeley Hills Road Race, with Ryan Gorman.

Voler Apparel has provided the official Berkeley Omnium winner's jersey for many years. It was the official jersey sponsor of the 2026 Berkeley Omnium, and is a confirmed partner for 2027.

Voler has made cycling apparel in California since 1986, at its own factory in Grover Beach, California.

The connection doesn't stop at the kit. Voler Factory Racing has raced the Berkeley Hills Road Race's men's Pro/1/2/3 field, and in 2024 VFR's Ryan Gorman won it.

KaiVelo: a purse with a purpose.

A foundation that grew out of the Berkeley Bicycle Club, putting money into racing and the riders coming next.

Co-funded the $10,000 cash purse for the 2026 Berkeley Omnium Pro/1/2 races. The purse was split 50/50 between the women's and men's races.

KaiVelo has raised $250,000+ in cash and equipment for local high school mountain bike teams, raised together with the Berkeley Bicycle Club, and presents Monarch Racing, an elite women's racing development team.

The Berkeley Omnium is organized by the volunteer-run Berkeley Bicycle Club. In 2026 it was supported by 18 sponsors and community partners, including title sponsor Expert Tree Service, the KaiVelo Foundation, Voler, Trek and local Berkeley businesses. Confirmed so far for 2027: Voler Apparel, KaiVelo Foundation, Stay True Cycles and Tempo Endurance Coaching & Fitting.
