Corporate partnerships

Partner with one of Northern California's cycling traditions.

The Berkeley Omnium brings together competitive racing, cycling clubs, collegiate athletes, juniors, families, volunteers and spectators. For corporate partners, it's a way to connect with an engaged cycling audience while directly supporting the future of the sport.

The event

What is the Berkeley Omnium?

A weekend of bike racing in Berkeley, California, organized by the Berkeley Bicycle Club. The next edition is April 17–18, 2027.

  • Berkeley Hills Road Race: a Northern California road race raced since 1957, over the Three Bears climbs in the East Bay hills. 2026 was its 70th edition.
  • Berkeley Streets Criterium: fast laps on closed streets beside Ohlone Park, free for spectators, with the field passing every couple of minutes.

What's an omnium? A competition that adds up results from more than one race to crown an overall winner: here, one road race and one criterium.

Why partner with us

Where heritage, Berkeley and youth cycling meet.

You're not buying a logo at a weekend bike race. You're joining a long-running Northern California cycling tradition and helping sustain the next generation of the sport.

01

Heritage

The Berkeley Hills Road Race has been raced since 1957; 2026 was its 70th edition. Few amateur races anywhere have that kind of continuity.

02

Community

Racers, clubs, collegiate teams, juniors, families, volunteers and spectators: a real cycling community, not an audience assembled for a campaign.

03

Northern California

The race sits in the East Bay hills and on Berkeley's streets, at the center of one of the country's most active cycling regions.

04

Authenticity

It's organized by the Berkeley Bicycle Club, a volunteer club formed in 1979, by people who race, coach and volunteer in the sport themselves.

05

Impact

Event proceeds support youth cycling: $28,610 for six East Bay NICA high school teams in 2026.

06

Engagement

Partnerships can run before, during and after race weekend: in the guides racers plan with, at the race, and in what the club shares afterward.

Audience

Who races Berkeley?

Quality matters more than raw numbers. The people at the Berkeley Omnium train, race, volunteer and buy for the sport all year:

  • Competitive amateur racers, from first-timers to Pro/1/2
  • Masters racers
  • Women racers, with a 50/50 Pro/1/2 purse in 2026
  • Junior racers and their parents
  • Collegiate cyclists, since collegiate racing joined in 2026
  • Cycling clubs, teams and coaches
  • Volunteers and families
  • Cycling fans and active, outdoor-minded spectators

Meet them: Teams of the Omnium, elite teams at Berkeley, collegiate racing and junior cycling.

Heritage & credibility

Generations of Northern California racing.

The Berkeley Hills Road Race has run across generations of the sport. Jonathan Boyer won in 1979, two years before he became the first American to ride the Tour de France. Eric Heiden won in 1983. Kristen Faulkner raced the 2019 women's field five years before winning Olympic gold in the road race. Clubs and teams come back year after year, and volunteers keep it running.

Impact

The impact is the point.

Event proceeds, from registration, sponsorship and donations, support East Bay high school mountain bike teams in the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), helping with equipment, coaching and race opportunities. Corporate sponsorship sustains both the event and its ability to keep supporting youth cycling, healthy lifestyles and outdoor recreation in the Bay Area.

Ways to partner

Partnership levels, or something custom.

The current sponsorship program has five kinds of partnership. There's no fixed rate card: scope and pricing are built around what you want to achieve.

  • Title SponsorThe presenting partner of the full Berkeley Omnium weekend, the most visible partnership available.
  • Major Event PartnerA significant partnership with visibility across both days of racing.
  • Race SponsorAttach your brand to one race, the Berkeley Hills Road Race or the Berkeley Streets Criterium.
  • Community PartnerSupport the event's community, volunteer, and youth cycling mission.
  • Product / In-Kind PartnerContribute products or services that riders, volunteers, and spectators use race weekend.

Employee engagement

Give employees a way to take part.

A sponsorship can be something your people experience, not only a line in the marketing budget. For Bay Area employers, that could mean:

  • Volunteering together on race weekend
  • Watching the criterium downtown, which is free
  • Supporting the kids skills clinic
  • Racing, for employees who already ride
  • Bringing your company cycling club

These aren't packaged programs yet. We'd build them with you. See volunteer roles.

Cycling industry

Products racers actually use.

For brands looking for cycling sponsorship opportunities in California, Berkeley is an authentic place to show up: racers here choose and use this gear every week. That could mean prizes, demo equipment, podium awards, racer giveaways, product education, social content or a race-day presence, agreed with the organizing committee.

Cycling brands in 2026

  • Voler was the official Berkeley Omnium jersey sponsor.
  • Hummingbird Fuels fueled the 2026 Berkeley Omnium.
  • Trek hosted the kids clinic at Berkeley Streets.
  • Stay True Cycles sponsored the feed-zone water bottles.
  • Team Zealios provided sunscreen for podium giveaways.

Bay Area community sponsorship

You don't have to sell bikes to be a good partner.

Berkeley and the Bay Area are home to technology, healthcare, education, finance, professional services, consumer and outdoor companies looking for community sponsorship opportunities close to home. A company might partner with the Berkeley Omnium because it wants to support Berkeley, healthy and active lifestyles, young people, outdoor recreation, cycling, or simply give its employees a meaningful way to show up in the community.

Product sponsorship

Contribute products instead of cash.

Product partners are welcome. The best product partnerships give racers or the community something they value, not something to throw away.

  • Race prizes
  • Podium prizes
  • Giveaways
  • Kids clinic equipment
  • Support for volunteers
  • Nutrition
  • Equipment
  • Gift certificates
Talk With Us About Product Sponsorship

Partnerships should work for both sides.

We don't want to put a logo on a page and call it a partnership. Before we propose anything, we'd like to understand:

  • What audience are you trying to reach?
  • What products do you want people to experience?
  • What community impact matters to your company?
  • How will you measure a successful partnership?

Then we'll tell you honestly whether the Berkeley Omnium is a good fit, and what we can build together.
