Register online

Save time on race morning: register early

Online pre-registration on BikeReg closes 3 days before the Berkeley Hills Road Race, or sooner if fields fill. Pre-registering means:

  • Less to deal with on race morning.
  • No $15 day-of surcharge.
  • Organizers know the size of each field ahead of time.
  • You can focus on your number, your bike, your warm-up and getting to staging.

Deciding between one race and the whole weekend? To be scored in the Omnium, you start both races in your Omnium category.

Can I register on race day?

Yes. Day-of registration is available at both the Berkeley Hills Road Race and the Berkeley Streets Criterium, with a $15 surcharge. If you missed online registration, you can still come race.

Registration on race morning isn't instant, though. Give yourself extra time before your race to:

  • Register and pay.
  • Sort out your USA Cycling license, if you need a one-day license.
  • Sign the waivers.
  • Collect and pin your race number.
  • Get ready for staging.

Race-day registration is cashless

Phones and card readers depend on a connection, so bring more than one way to pay electronically, such as a card and a payment app.

Want another race? Your second crit is $20

Already pinned up, warmed up and at the course? If you're eligible for another field, $20 gets you another race at the Berkeley Streets Criterium.

Eligibility still applies: your category, age group and gender have to fit the second field, the same as your first. Check the field labels and start times before you sign up.

Racing the Omnium? Only the criterium in your registered Omnium category earns Omnium points; a second crit is a bonus race.

Do I need a USA Cycling license?

Yes. A USA Cycling license is required to race the Berkeley Omnium. If you don't have an annual license, you can buy a one-day license if you're eligible.

USA Cycling one-day licenses
LicenseCostWho it's forHow to get it
1-Day Beginner$15 per dayRacers in USA Cycling's beginner category, Novice (Category 5), such as the Open Novice field and new women and junior racersAdd it when you register on BikeReg, or buy it on-site at the event
1-Day Experienced$35 per dayFormer annual members who were upgraded to at least Category 4 on the roadOnly through BikeReg, so buy it online before the event

On BikeReg, the right one-day license is added to your cart based on the race you enter, if you don't have a current license. One-day licenses can't be used at championship events.

Racing more than a few times, or hoping to move up? An annual license is usually better value, and it's how USA Cycling tracks your results toward upgrades. USA Cycling also includes a free one-day license with its RIDE membership.
